The “Sherman Shanklin, ALC” Education Scholarship has been created in memory and recognition of Sherman Shanklin, ALC, a valued RLI Oklahoma Chapter member who loved education. Sherm not only loved to learn, but he also loved to share his knowledge with others. Sherm served on the Board of Directors from 2012 to 2020 and served as the Chapter’s Education Committee Chair for seven years, and he never stopped challenging himself. He was at every class that the Chapter offered, and he was always willing to share his wealth of knowledge with others, whether learned from experience or from hitting the books. Sherm was one of a kind and for those who were lucky enough to know him, know the kind of man he was. It was an easy decision for the Board of Directors to create the “Sherman Shanklin, ALC” Education Scholarship in his memory.
The Scholarship shall be used to help defray costs of those who pursue the ALC designation and share the passion for the land. To learn more about the Scholarship Guidelines and apply, OK Scholarship-Application.
The Scholarship will be funded by donations and a portion of proceeds from education classes held by the RLI Oklahoma Chapter.
